In June 2013, I made the move from Chicago, IL to Murray, KY, to stay with a friend for the summer. Having grown up in an area more rural than Murray but having lived in cities for years afterwards, I deemed my temporary post the bridge between the two main modes of living. I started writing about my time there. Fates took me to Iowa, then. I kept the blog going. Because, it wasn’t — isn’t, rather — about living in the country vs. living in the city. It’s really just about living. My living. And the way I best deal with the glory and terror of living – is to write about it.
